How skimondo works
skimondo guide
skimondo guide uses GPS (global positioning satellite) technology to pinpoint your location on the mountain, combined with mobile phone technology to (either GPRS or SMS) to exchange information about the positions of others in your party, and conditions on the mountain. We have chosen to base this initially on the Nokia GPS enabled phones. So you’ll need to get a Nokia N95 or Navigator 6110 if you do not already have one. We will progressively be testing external GPS antennae coupled with other Nokia S60 phones.
skimondo tracker
skimondo tracker uses a robust, dedicated device which receives GPS signal and transmits positions to skimondo's servers using exactly the same technology as a mobile phone. In an emergency, a mobile phone call can be made to a dedicated support number.
